Jill, Phil, Don and Diane spent the 2012 Thanksgiving weekend at Cathedral Lakes Lodge.  The weather was sunny and cold with unlimited visibility.  We did two major hikes and various short ones.  On Saturday we hiked the south rim trail.  The route begins at Quiniscoe Lake, climbs to pass Glacier Lake and climbs again to the rim.  We encountered a herd of 10 mountain goats on the trail just before we reached the rim.  The route continues over Pyramid mountain and past geological features, including the Giant Cleft.  The return route goes by Ladyslipper and Pyramid Lakes.  On Sunday we hiked to Goat Lake, then up to the col between the Boxcar and Lakeview Mountain, then over Lakeview Mountain to return to Quiniscoe Lake.
